Selank is a research peptide listed in the UK for in-vitro laboratory use only. It is not a medicine and it is not for human or veterinary use. This page is the Selank listing for Protocol Peptides UK.

Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide analogue of tuftsin, catalogued for GABAergic and neuroimmune signalling research. The sequence TKPRPGP appends Pro-Gly-Pro to the native tuftsin tetrapeptide, extending stability enough for controlled experimental work.

Also known as TP-7, TKPRPGP.

Compound details

Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide analogue of tuftsin, catalogued for GABAergic and neuroimmune signalling research. The sequence TKPRPGP appends Pro-Gly-Pro to the native tuftsin tetrapeptide, extending stability enough for controlled experimental work.

Selank is built from tuftsin, a tetrapeptide fragment of the immunoglobulin G heavy chain with documented immunomodulatory activity. The same C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro extension used in Semax is applied here, producing the heptapeptide TKPRPGP. The extension is a stability modification rather than a functional one, and it is why the compound is workable in laboratory conditions where native tuftsin is not.
